Winter’s black.

IMG_1788Winter hasn’t been so bad this year (knocks on wood) so I don’t mind braving the cold in a dress every now and then with some stockings to keep the stems warm. However, I can’t shake off the fact that all I wear is black during this cold season. Hell, I don’t even want to dress up as I normally do. Part of me wishes I could just walk around in a snuggie all day and be invisible so no one would notice lol. The other part of me can’t go even 2 days without being creative with my clothes. Apparently, playing dress up never gets old for some of us folk.

Anyway, on this day I was drenched in Karen Millen. I wore my favorite dress and coat from her recent collection. The dress sports an awesome plaid print and an abstract peplum/bust and the pony coat has a black on black houndstooth print, leather accents, and a belted waist. I am absolutely in love with both of these pieces so I wore them together. The dress makes me feel sassy while the coat keeps me warm and stylish in this weather. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with this brand. Karen Millen dresses are tailored to PERFECTION and I have been a major fan since I discovered the store on Prince Street 5 years ago. Every KM dress is a statement piece and I almost feel terrible for letting you all know my best kept secret lol. To compliment both pieces I wore some leather gloves, a Betsey Johnson satchel, back seam hosiery, my favorite vintage hat, and my Agent Provocateur patent leather pumps. Not too shabby for a cold day in brick city ;).IMG_1790I love this hat and wear it every time I am too lazy to do my hair lol. Looks great with the dress!
IMG_1759LOVE this Karen Millen Dress. I have a collection of plaid dresses that have abstract tailoring, none of which are Viviane Westwood but remind me of her designs so much!

  1. who cares that you wear dark colours all winter – with hair that glorious red it just doesn’t matter!

  2. Sometimes black is just right! This is such a beautiful outfit… I’m scuttling to Karen Millen for a splurge as we speak (my credit card blames you!) 🙂

  3. Darling, you are drop-dead gorgeous! I think every detail you’ve included; the hat is a nice touch, you’re after my own heart. Oh, and do forgive me if I stare too long at your legs, but I simply cannot stop looking at those Mary-Jane high-heeled pumps and your seamed stockings. You are bold and beautiful, sweetheart. I tip my hat to you.
