What I wore today: 06.19.11

The other day I headed to the city to run some errands. I am always dressed up, I could be going to the grocery store, to do laundry, or even just to walk my dog. Many times I don’t intend on being fashionable but it is kind of hard when your closet is full of such character. On this day, all I knew was that I wanted to wear this beautiful burnt orange Zara top I found at the Salvation Army in Queens. That is usually what determines my outfit, I try to find one item I really want to wear…and I build around it. Whilst looking for something to go with my top, I came across this H&M skirt I bought at Buffalo Exchange in Brooklyn and it was the perfect combination. For shoes I decided to wear my new teal Alexandre Birmansnakeskin pumps I recently got as a gift from my girl Janet. It just so happens that I had a vintage teal snakeskin belt that matches the shoes perfectly so I wore that. I also wore my vintage purse my friend Edson found in Kentucky with some cool cheapy earrings and some gold bangles. I felt great, I was wearing all of my favorite colors. It was one of those perfect outfits for a perfect day and it may just be one of my favorites of all time.
A braid seemed fitting for this type of look. On hot days a braid is essential.Teal and snakeskin? I think YES!
