21-7 Magazine shoot at the Ace hotel. (behind the scenes)
So 21-7 Magazine reached out to me asking If I could do an interview and be there cover girl for the month of July. Of course I agreed, they have shown me love and support for sometime now. I met A-list and Elle (both creators of this amazing magazine) and I can’t tell you enough, I absolutely adore them. I have done quite a few photo shoots and honestly, this photo shoot was the most fun I have ever had up to date. My hair was a mess, so I wore my favorite wig throughout the whole photo shoot, It just went so well with everything anyway. I think it added a little more fun to the shoot as well.
It was a new and exciting experience, because they were so professional and the hotel was so amazing. I was in complete shock of how they took care of everything for me, from having a wardrobe set up, to having accessories laid out for me to pick and choose from for different looks. I have never done a photo shoot where a wardrobe was already set for me. Elle did such an amazing job picking out amazing pieces, she definitely did her homework when it came to my style. I brought some of my clothes and accessories as well, and we mixed the two. We all negotiated accessories and clothing options and created an amazing photo shoot.
Ace hotel is a new hotel in New York, completely inspired by art. Our hotel room alone was no ordinary room, there was art everywhere from our crazy little Band boxed fridge, to our cross-shaped soup. Behind the bed was an amazing painting that said “play safe”. If I can remember, one of the guys from the hotel told us “every time someone books this room, a donation of it goes to an Aids benefit”. I can’t say anything bad about it, I live in NY but wouldn’t mind booking a room there just for the whole experience again, especially if my money will go towards benefits and charities of all kinds.
Here is some behind the scenes footage.
