I am always in the Thanksgiving spirit because…well…I love to eat. I was off to visit my family in Philly and I was excited to see them. I was especially excited to bust out a dress I bought at a thrift store in California that has been sitting in my closet awaiting the perfect occasion. I knew this would be the perfect day for a perfect dress. The dress is wool so it was warm enough for the weather and the print just screamed fall. I love crazy prints, they don’t bother me at all. I especially love this one because it reminds me of something Anna Sui would put together and I love her stuff. I love that this dress is long and fitted and that it has cute peasant sleeves and a tie around the neck. It kinda has a Victorian feel to it. I wore it with a black on black skinny studded belt, my Betsey Johnson velvet-black purse, my Steve Madden wedges, and some vintage jewelry. I like to mix up different styles of jewelry so I wore my vintage Avon cameo ring on one hand and another regal ring on the other. I also wore Milagros heart earrings with crosses in them that I snagged at Billy’s Antiques. The dress is wool so it is already warm for this time of year but I threw on my fur stole just incase the weather drops. See more details and photos of my day inside!
The pattern on this dress is what appealed to me the most when I saw it on the rack. I love when I find things that are unique and they happen to be my size.
This is what it looks like with the fur stole
For my makeup I stuck to burgundy, purples, and dark oranges. I also wore my Stila red lip liquid color and Mac “Pinch me” blush.
Accessories!
After an awesome day of seeing my family and eating everything in sight, I was ready to go home. I have my vintage leopard suitcase and my Thomas Wylde bag with me because I spent a few days at my parents place.
lol my sister and I in the lobby of my mother’s building. I was so tired.
I don’t really mind the leopard pattern with my dress, It is kinda fitting for my personality lol.
XOXO

My name is Jasmin Rodriguez also known as Vintage Vandalizm. I am an avid collector of vintage dresses and most people know me for my style. I am also an artist and I try to incorporate all aspects of art in everything that I do. I am an aspiring Designer and I plan to take over the fashion world with my limitless imagination. My whole philosophy on fashion has always been to think outside of the box. My style has no boundaries but I have commonly taken inspiration from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. I love the pinup culture and style however I love being versatile so most of the time I like to clash opposites, different genres of history and fashion and somehow, someway, I make it work. I think the world is too fixated on trends that people tend to forget who they are and what they like..I’m here to help you break free, to help you stand out, to help you create your own style, be your own person, and most importantly see fashion in a whole different light.

That dress is stunning! And the fur stole with the bow above it is a fabulous touch! Who’s the maker of the dress and what year do you think it is.

I’m seriously jealous. I’m 6 feet tall, and I think this dress would simply serve to make me look like a giant floral tent.
But it’s adorably quirky and fun on you…

Congratulations on the courage to pursue your own likes and tastes. Walking down the street could be a whole lot more interesting were it not for jeans and t-shirts.
It is a very nice dress but to me what I eat is more important than what I wear!

It takes a very confident woman to wear this dress and you pulled it off. It looks great on you!
nice lip color
Do you think you could pull of that great look in a small conservative town like Morristown NJ?
Ronnie
Love the dress and the makeup!!
You are so pretty, anything you wear would look great on you.
Amazing dress, I love your style!
A really unique dress, but I think it looks better without the fur collar, as then the bow looks kind of out-of-place. The dress screams more “prairie girl” than “fancy glamorous fur girl” lol. And your make-up is fantastic!
You wore it elegantly.. and gorgeously!
!Hey, Hola! Don’t you look amazing? Sweetheart, you are an honest-to-God stunner! You’ve got a brave sense of self, and that’s seen in what you wear. You’re after my own heart! I just found you today, and you are one to watch. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face. Drop me a line if you want: http://www.lessonplanforlife.com

Absolutely fantastic, you wear it well! Those orange subway tiles and pebble panels in the last shot are perfect background. Love your style, never lose it! (PS I have a secret mission in that I think the world would be a better place with more lipstick in it!).

Such an amazing dress! Love the colors and patterns and the way you wore it! I bought a dress at the good will a few months ago that looks similar in style. I could not leave the store without buying it. lol It turned out to be a vintage dress from the 60s or 70s by a designer named Pat Sandler whose dresses sell up to $300!
Your Blog is great and loved the layout and the pictures have been taken really well great stuff.
